The small town of Wojnowo is a special place where believers of four religious creeds have been living in peace and harmony for a long time now, namely - Catholics, Evangelists, the Orthodox church and the old Orthodox Church followers.
Chwalęcin, a miniature sanctuary. It is the smallest and probably the least popular pilgrims’ destination in the region. The temple was built in the 18th century. It is surrounded by arcade cloisters and adorned with sculptures.
The monastery in Święta Lipka is a marvellous and magnificent 17th century structure, hidden in green areas and perfectly incorporated into the landscape. The marshy ground made the building works extremely difficult.
The church is situated in the place where a figure of the Virgin Mary was found in the waters of the Drwęca Warmińska river. Initially, i.e. in the 14th century, a chapel was erected. It became more and more popular with pilgrims, as many miraculous healings were believed to have occurred there.
The village is picturesquely situated in a hilly area, where the beautiful landscape is marked with old red bricked houses, gathered around the high spire of the splendid Neo-Gothic church. The sanctuary is famous for revelations of the Virgin Mary, which first took place in 1877.
The history of Stoczek Warmiński is parallel with the origins of other sanctuaries in Varmia. Initially, a chapel was built by local people to serve as a place of worship for the Virgin Mary whose miraculous figure had been found in the vicinity.
